About the Team

Diane Logie

Diane has been involved in outdoor activities for over 14 years. These activities have included rock climbing, hiking, paddleski-ing, road cycling, mountain biking (both single day events and multi-day), field guiding, as well as working for SANParks as a student ranger. More recently the sports of Dog Obedience, Agility and Tracking have been added to my fun activities.

Diane has also been involved in first aid at a competitive level and has attained a level 3 first aid qualification and continues to keep up to date with the latest trends. Diane has worked as a rock climbing instructor at St Peter’s school, and was also involved in the mountain rescue of some mentally and physically disabled individuals that got lost on a hike.

Although working full time in graphic design, Diane is an avid mountain biker and dog lover who is always looking for the next horizon which has resulted in adventures such as having completed some tough adventures including: Tour de Tuli, Sabie Experience Lite; Sabie Classic and most recently, Sani2C, GSS 2012, the Euro-Adventure and a few upcoming fun adventures!

Diane has a belief that you can’t just sit around and let life pass you by.

Tessa Hanekom - GSS 2012

Tessa has been a recreational hiker for over 20 years. She started running and cycling in 2003 and since then she has completed one 4 day and two 5 day cycling trips for charity and has also participated in a few adventure races (multi-sport off-road races) and 24-hour and longer mountain bike events.

Tessa is passionate about safety and has completed both Level 1 and Level 2 First Aid training. She also marshals events, such as cycling races, on her motorbike when not participating herself. Tessa has been instrumental in encouraging and teaching other bikers safe riding and to get them to also give back to the sport of cycling.

Tessa has always enjoyed the more “off-the-beaten-track” holidays and enjoys getting out into nature and away from technology.

Tessa is a platform specialist in IT.

Tessa feels that there is no such thing as too much coffee or too many bikes.
